Position: Dyslexia Therapist
Mrs. Shewmake is a passionate dyslexia teacher and proud mom of three energetic kids. She’s been teaching for 16 years—10 of those at Pink Elementary. She has a passion for teaching reading and loves working with students to develop those vital skills that will be beneficial in every aspect of their life.
When she’s not decoding words with students, you can find her chasing sunshine at the beach or soaking up family time. Her two boys keep her busy on the weekends with sporting events! She brings energy, heart, and a little bit of Red Raider spirit to everything she does!

Ms. West, a dyslexia therapist with a deep passion for helping students overcome their dyslexia, an inspiration rooted in her own family’s experience with dyslexia. She's been teaching for 14 years and this is her 5th year at Pink, where she's lucky to share the campus with her 9-year-old daughter. She proudly serves students at both Pink and Griffin, supporting their growth and confidence as readers every day.
When she’s not decoding words with students, she’s decoding pickleball rules or cheering wildly for her daughter, Blake, at Warren Park. She’s proud to be part of a school community that believes in growth and kindness.
