Art class can get messy; please do not send your child to school in their best clothes on art day.

We will be learning the principles and elements by exploring a variety of medium, including drawing, painting, clay, chalk pastels and oil pastels.

In addition to creating art, we will also be learning about artists and art movements, studying cultures and history through art, learning about careers in art and critiquing our art and the art of others.

Students will be bring home some pieces as they finish, but some may also stay here in student portfolios until the end of the school year.  Each project may take several weeks, as we work hard learning and practicing techniques before our project, learning about related artists, and reflecting on our work.
