Reading has been a constant companion in my life since childhood. It began, I understood from what my mother explained to me, when she read stories aloud to me at bedtime. This sparked a fascination with words, accompanying images in the book and the world that text and images described. My mother often reminded me how quickly I started reading on my own and how my curiosity seemed boundless. That early spark never faded. In fact, it grew into a lifelong habit and an important part of who I am. I learned from my mother that as a child, I was curious all the time. The photo below shows my mother and I reading a book in our apartment at Langenæs Allé in Aarhus in Denmark. My parents and I lived here the first 3 years after I was born.

Over the years, my curiosity deepened, leading me to explore an ever‑widening range of subjects, particularly those connected to my professional interests. When I moved to Switzerland in 2006, I began dedicating even more time to reading, recognizing it as one of the most powerful ways to learn, reflect, and grow as a service provider and a human being. For me, reading does more than build knowledge - it cultivates perspective, nurtures adaptability, and strengthens my ability to support other people in creating positive change. Reading plays an essential role in professional services that I offer. The ideas, frameworks, and stories I encounter in books often inspire new ways to design learning experiences, facilitate meaningful conversations, strengthen creative thinking as well as help people and organizations navigate complexity. Each book I read adds to a growing foundation of insights that I draw upon when guiding individuals and teams toward clarity, growth, and more sustainable ways of working and living. I enjoy sharing highlights and key insights from the books I read. For example, I use Amazon, Goodreads and The StoryGraph to share takeaways from books I am reading. In 2026, I received the recognition as the # 1 top reviewer on Goodreads. Because I like reading as well as writing about and sharing what I am learning, I feel joy about this.
A Gallup CliftonStrengths assessment in 2024 showed that learning is among my top strengths.
