FAFSA is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Students who plan on attending higher education (university or technical college) fill out this application. Filling out the FAFSA helps you apply for federal grants, work study, and loans to assist in the payment of college tuition. To learn more, click on the link above to visit studentaid.gov.

College Goal Wisconsin is a statewide event that provides free assistance to families with filling out the FAFSA. College Goal provides events to help students and families complete the FAFSA form. The Expected Family Contribution (EFC) Calculator helps students & families estimate the family contribution toward the cost of college in an academic year. Other information provided by finaid.gov is:

SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION

To assist in the cost of higher education, students can apply for scholarships. Students can find scholarships through:

  • Asking your high school counselor

  • Community organizations or local businesses

  • Organizations related to a student's projected field of study

  • Parents' or student's employers

  • College financial aid office

  • US Department of Labor

When looking for scholarships make sure that the scholarship is legitimate. Remember that you don't have to pay for scholarships or other financial aid. Learn how to avoid scams by visiting studentaid.gov.

The city of Fort Atkinson, and surrounding areas, offer a great deal of scholarships to FAHS seniors. Both local and outside scholarships are provided under the tab "Scholarships." Students will apply for scholarships starting in December of their 12th grade year. Please visit the link above to access scholarships provided by Fort Atkinson and surrounding areas.
