Scholarships

Whether you are a first generation student, or a university legacy, it is likely that you are searching out scholarships to help pay for college tuition. After all, higher education can be expensive.

HOW TO FIND OTHER SCHOLARSHIPS

  • Check the black filing cabinet in Pupil Services for state and regional scholarship opportunities.  There are new scholarship opportunities in here every month.  These scholarships are published in the Pupil Services monthly newsletter, “Student Opportunities.”
  • Contact professional organizations that support the occupation for which you will be preparing.  The Occupational Outlook Handbook is a good source of information regarding these professional groups

When looking for scholarships make sure that the scholarship is legitimate! Remember that you don't have to pay for scholarships or other financial aid. Learn how to avoid scams by visiting studentaid.gov.

The U.S. Department of Labor offers a free scholarship search through the Career OneStop website. You are able to search by keyword, level of study, award type, where you live or where you will study.
