Going straight into the workforce after graduation?

Great! The counseling office posts multiple job opportunities throughout the year. Make sure to check out our job board or ask your school counselor for assistance.

Make sure that you have a couple items ready for your workforce journey:

  • Up-to-date RESUME

  • 3 current references (NOT family)

  • A professional email account (employers don't want to see something like CatEyesMissy@gmail.com on your resume)

  • All legal documents/items needed to apply for a job (social security number, mailing address, current phone number, and/or driver's license)

You probably already have a resume from you 10th grade Career Pathways class. That is a great start! Make sure to update it and, if you have questions, make an appointment to see your school counselor. They will be able to look over your resume and give you some tips to make it top-notch!

Job Center of Wisconsin is a free website that connects you with employment opportunities throughout Wisconsin. You can search job openings by title, employer, keyword, location, apprenticeship opportunity, location and more. In addition to searching for jobs, you can upload a resume or use the resume builder to assist in creating a resume that highlights the job seeker's skills.
