Update from the Principal's desk:
Parents and guardians-
Please welcome our new principal for the 24-25 school year, Ms. Liz Tuck. I could not be more excited to see the work she will do at SFMS.
Please be mindful in car rider to merge in a zipper-manner during morning car-rider. During the past week, we have had rainy mornings and traffic jams because some cars are refusing to merge. Also, please remember that after 3:45 p.m. we do not allow early check outs. If you are checking your student out early, please arrive prior to 3:45 p.m. and use the front parking spaces to avoid the afternoon car line. Please be courteous in car rider.
I hope you all have a great week!

Nurse Notes
Flu season is upon us! As we see numbers increase across our community and state, we would like to remind families to keep students home from school if they are experiencing symptoms. Please visit this link to read about when it is recommended your child stay home. Thank you for helping to keep all our students and staff safe and healthy by following these guidelines!
First reminder for our rising 7th grade students: ALL students entering the 7th grade are required to have received both the Tdap Booster (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis) and the Meningococcal Vaccine (MCV4) prior to the first day of their 7th grade school year. An updated GA 3231 Form with these newly given immunizations documented must be on file with us prior to August 1, 2024. More information will be sent out at a later date.
Testing Calendar is subject to change.
If a student does not take their final, they will receive a zero (missing) for that assessment.
Parent Volunteer Opportunities:
Sign up HERE if you would like to volunteer throughout the school year.
We love our SFMS teachers! To our new parents, Welcome!! Each month we try to do something special to let our teachers know all of their hard work is appreciated! This second 1/2 of the year we would like to cover lunch duty on the following dates with volunteer parents:
Feb 8-Chicken Salad Chick Lunch sponsored by Andrew Peters-The Peters Team Keller Williams Realty
March 14-Catered Lunch provided by Sheba Naqvi, www.baldridgefamilypractice.com
April 18- International Potluck provided by parents
Volunteers stand in the cafeteria for an hour and let the kids know when to head back to class. You will be with 7 other volunteers and maybe get to embarrass your child! It is super easy! This gives the teachers a quiet time to enjoy lunch and it is a much appreciated way to give back. If you can’t come during school hours, please consider donating soft drinks for our teachers. You can send these in with your student and drop off at the main office. There is a slot for these on the sign up as well.
