Bands

The various bands at Troy High School offer students the opportunity to learn more about winds and percussion at different levels of skills and styles. Along with marching band, there are 3 concert bands.  

The Concert Band is exclusively for freshmen.  By practicing among peers in their grade, these freshmen will be able to develop their abilities for higher level band music.  It is also an opportunity for members to develop leadership skills that may help them not only in the selection for leadership positions within the Concert Band but also, throughout the Band Program.  Prior music experience is important but not required.  

The Symphonic Band is for 10th-12th grade students.  Students wishing to enroll into Symphonic Band must have prior music experience.  This ensemble performs high school level music in several concerts.  

By audition only, the Wind Symphony is available to 10th-12th graders.  This ensemble performs advanced high school and college level music.  All the concert bands go to music festivals in the spring where they are evaluated by a panel of adjudicators.
