*All AFJROTC Courses include uniform and grooming requirements.
Uniform is typically worn about 8 times a semester and is provided. The purpose of the uniform and grooming requirements are meant to teach the students about attention to detail, and the over all purpose of taking care of oneself to aid in self promotion and personal standards. This course does NOT require, or even necessarily encourage students to join the military after high school, however, if a student does participate in JROTC and then choses to join the military they can be rewarded with a higher rank, and thus pay, after basic training.
JROTC I (Course includes uniform and grooming requirements)
This entry level course is designed to acquaint the student with the historical development of flight and the role of the aviation in U.S. history. Students also learn basic military drill, Air Force customs and courtesies, personal appearance standards, and the proper wear of the uniform. Good study habits, citizenship, and personal responsibility are introduced and emphasized. Finally, students are provided opportunities to participate in PT/Wellness.
JROTC II (Course includes uniform and grooming requirements) Prerequisite: JROTC I
This is a customized course about the cultures of the Middle East, Asia and Africa. It introduces students to these cultures through the study of world affairs, regional studies and cultural awareness. Students are also provided information on communicating effectively, understanding groups and teams, preparing for leadership, solving conflicts and problems, and personal development. Finally, students are provided opportunities to participate in PT/Wellness.
JROTC III (Course includes uniform and grooming requirements) Prerequisite: JROTC II
This is a customized course about the cultures of Russia, Latin America and Europe. It introduces students to these cultures through the study of world affairs, regional studies and cultural awareness. Students are also provided opportunities to decide which career path to take after high school. Also, other important information such as dealing with money will be discussed. Finally, students are provided opportunities to participate in PT/Wellness.
JROTC IV (Course includes uniform and grooming requirements) Prerequisite: JROTC III
This is a science course that includes the latest information available in space science and space exploration. It investigates the importance of entering space and discusses manned and unmanned space flights, focusing on concepts surrounding spaceflight, space vehicles, launch systems and space missions. This course also provides exposure to the fundamentals of management. Finally, students are provided opportunities to participate in PT/Wellness.
