Focus Areas:
Over the past three years, school and central staff throughout FCPS have engaged in learning and continuous improvement towards more consistent grading practices across our schools, with focus on middle and high school. Multiple stakeholder groups including FCTA, principals, central staff, and other teacher and leader workgroups, have provided feedback about our current efforts and suggestions for next school year. Like the end of last year, this message shares a status update and a preview of focus areas for the 2025-26 school year. Please note: This will be a year of continuity and refinement, no major change or new initiatives.
As a preview for next school year and to support summer work, please find draft anchor resources below:
Overview (see embedded links for middle and high school specific documents)
Note for elementary: FCPS will continue to focus on implementation of new high quality instructional materials (HQIM), progress monitoring through our assessment system, and implementing a multi-tiered system of supports.
