Our district's innovative Grow Your Own (GYO) strategy is to recruit, develop, and retain educators who are connected to our community and share lived experiences with the students we serve. Vibrant partnerships empower GYO participants through college scholarships, localized support and resources, and immediate practice in our schools.
Teeming with talent, Fayette County Public Schools is tapping the students, employees, and community members we need to build a workforce that truly represents Lexington! GYO creates pathways to a diversified workforce, stronger schools, and a connected community.

A statement of support is required for FCPS employees completing an application for the Grow Your Own initiative. The signed statement must be from the employee's supervisor or executive principal. It can be as simple as a sentence indicating the administrator is aware of and support the employee's application or it can be a traditional letter of recommendation.
