Obtain intake number and record for documentation.
Email your School Chief, Shelley Chatfield and Jennifer Dyar - include:
Cabinet intake number
A short summary of the incident
Video information - camera name, date and time (if available).
Wait for Human Resources to send a follow-up email with the decision regarding administrative leave before proceeding to Step 2.
Meet confidentially with the employee (with another administrator present if necessary).
Inform the employee that HR received a report requiring investigation.
Place the employee on paid Administrative Leave without disclosing specific details of the report.
Provide Administrative Leave Brochure.
Print and provide the Administrative Leave brochure to the employee.
If the employee is off-site, obtain their personal email address and send the brochure.
Highlight HR contact information on the brochure: 859-422-0638.
Restrict access and communication.
Instruct the employee not to be on any FCPS property or attend any FCPS sponsored events (e.g. athletic events, ceremonies) without prior approval from HR (contact: 859-422-0638).
Advise the employee not to engage with students, families, or FCPS employees regarding the investigation or work-related matters.
Retrieve FCPS property.
Collect employee badge and keys, if possible.
Human Resources will deactivate FCPS email and badge immediately.
Contact the parent/guardian to inform them that an incident involving their child and school personnel has occurred.DO NOT provide any details of the report or investigation.
Do NOT provide any details of the incident or investigation.
Reassure the parent/guardian that appropriate steps have been taken and the propert authorities have been notified.
