Module 4: Collaborative Techniques
Module 4: Collaborative Techniques
Reflection
I enjoyed this week learning about different collaborative techniques through research, reading, and group discussions. I found a few new learning tools I added to my toolbox and excited to give them a try this year. I have always heard about the benefits of collaborative learning and know I should do my best to incorporate those pieces into my lessons. My students always enjoy hands-on learning and the growth that comes from it is incredible.
Transformation
I plan to transform my teaching to collaborate with my new teaching partner on new ideas for lessons. I have taught second grade for four years so I have a good base with what my curriculum is. However, that can give me more support to changing pieces to more collaborative learning. I would love to create a Padlet board for my teaching partner and I to update with new ideas that we can bring together for PLC. Then we can lesson plan them into our curriculum. I enjoy using technology and can see this week giving me more confidence to explore technology with myself and my students.
Implementation
I will be implementing more collaborative techniques into my classroom. In the discussion board, I found that others shared some interesting new tools. For example, Goose Chase is a collaborative scavenger hunt where the teacher can create lessons on any standard that fits. I have done a Goose Chase with my colleagues as an ice breaker and we had a great time. I plan to implement more digital activities to engage my students like Goose Chase.
