GOOGLE SLIDES: Virtual Classroom
GOOGLE SLIDES: Virtual Classroom
Google Slides Description: Google Slides is a presentation software, similar to PowerPoint. However, there are many distinctions between the two. Google Slides lets you create and format presentations with the ability to work with others in real time. The links are handy to connect outside URLs/videos or even other slides for easy access.
Website: www.google.com/slides
Cost: Free online with an account.
Pedagogical Uses: Google Slides can be used for more than just the average presentation. Teachers can think outside the box to create interactive experiences.
Idea 1: Create a virtual classroom for students to check weekly assignments.
Idea 2: Students can use Google Slides in groups to create and collaborate on a set topic.
Idea 3: Create a review game from an ELO target with links and points.
Teachers should use Google Slides because it automatically saves and goes straight into their Google Drive account for easy access or designated folders. It does work and convert files from PowerPoint but the difference is that slides can be accessed anywhere. Teachers can also work together on slides to improve collaboration.
