The Franklin & Marshall women's basketball team (8-3, 1-1 CC) hits the road to play its final two non-conference games of the 2024-25 regular season. The Diplomats travel to play Drew (7-2, 3-1 Landmark) on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. before battling Salisbury (7-4, 0-0 C2C) on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
Last Time Out
The Diplomats played two games in the Music City Classic, held in Nashville, Tennessee during the middle-part of the month.
F&M opened the tournament with a 67-56 victory over Lynchburg to begin the trip. The Hornets jumped out to an early 11-10 lead after one quarter of play, but the Diplomats surged ahead in the second frame and never surrendered the lead from that point. Lizzie Neville led the way with 16 points and 13 rebounds to pick up her second-career double-double. Franklin & Marshall fell in the second game of the tournament as it was outlasted by Babson, 68-57. A back-and-forth battle through three quarters was settled in the final frame as the Beavers outscored the Diplomats, 22-7, in the final 10 minutes of regulation to win the game. Trebelev reached a career-high 22 points with two three-pointers and four rebounds in the contest. Neville followed with nine points, nine rebounds and five assists in the effort. The Diplomats defeated Drew, 58-52, during its last meeting in the 2007-08 season. F&M used a strong second half by outscoring the Rangers, 38-27, to win the game. Sarah Meisenberg '09 led F&M with 16 points and seven rebounds in the win. Brittany Braxton '08 tallied a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds in the victory. Read the full recap here.
Last Time vs. Salisbury
The Diplomats began 2024 with a 51-47 victory over Salisbury to extend their winning streak to three games. F&M jumped out to an early lead to take a 32-15 lead into halftime. Salisbury chipped away at the F&M lead to cut the deficit to as low as three points, but the hosts made key baskets down the stretch of the fourth quarter to hold on to win. Quinn Galligan posted a game-high 12 points with three steals and two assists. Trebelev finished one rebound shy of a double-double with 10 points and nine boards.
