The Franklin & Marshall women's basketball team (11-6, 2-4 CC) plays two Centennial Conference (CC) games this week as F&M finishes up a three-game road trip on Wednesday, before returning to the Mayser Center on Saturday. The Diplomats travel to Collegeville on Wednesday to play Ursinus (10-6, 4-2 CC) at 8:00 p.m. F&M returns to Lancaster on Saturday to host Dickinson (10-6, 4-1 CC) on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
Last Week
The Diplomats fell in both of its Centennial Conference games last week. F&M was defeated, 65-42, to No. 10 Gettysburg on Wednesday, before falling to No. 25 Johns Hopkins, 79-42, on Saturday.
In F&M's 65-42 loss at Gettysburg, the Diplomats closely trailed the Bullets for a majority of the first half. However, Gettysburg turned up the pressure halfway through the second quarter to separate from F&M and complete the season sweep of the Diplomats. Lizzie Neville led Franklin & Marshall with 12 points, five assists and one steal in the contest. Kennedy Wilburn ended her night with eight points, 13 rebounds and two blocks in the game. In the Diplomats' 79-42 loss at Johns Hopkins, F&M started the game on a cold stretch that put the road team in a hole early. However, the Diplomats battled back to cut the Blue Jays' lead to single digits late in the second quarter. However, JHU grew its lead in the second half to down F&M in the contest. Neville and Ally Trebelev finished the game with 10 points each. Neville scored six points at the charity stripe, while Trebelev sank two three-pointers in the loss. Last Time vs. Ursinus
F&M fell to Ursinus, 48-34, on the road in the last meeting between the two programs in January of the 2023-24 season. The Diplomats and Bears were neck-and-neck throughout the first half, but Ursinus pulled away late in the third quarter to secure the victory. Jaclyn Feit '24 led the visitors with eight points, five rebounds, and one block. Gia Sioutis and Trebelev led the Diplomats on the boards with six rebounds each. Last Time vs. Dickinson
The Diplomats battled, but came up short in F&M's 59-50 loss to Dickinson in February of the 2023-24 season. Franklin & Marshall erased a double-digit in the third quarter to tie the game at the beginning of the fourth quarter. However, the Red Devils used a late surge to regain the lead and hold off the Diplomats at the Mayser Center. Feit led F&M with 14 points and three blocks. Ursinus Team Preview
Ursinus is looking to bounce back after a 60-53 loss to Gettysburg on Saturday. Before that game, the Bears were on a three-game winning streak with victories over Haverford, Muhlenberg and Washington College. Chinwe Irondi leads the Centennial with 20.8 points per game. Irondi also leads Ursinus with 9.1 rebounds per night. Madison Smith averages 12.5 points per game and 6.5 rebounds per game. Colleen Blackman closely follows, averages 11.5 points per contest.
Dickinson Team Preview
Before coming to Lancaster on Saturday, the Red Devils square off with Gettysburg at home on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. Clair Marion is the player to watch out for as she averages 14.4 points per game, while also tallying 5.9 rebounds per contest and 3.1 steals per night. Marion is also second in the CC in three-pointers per game at 2.63 triples per contest.
