Hi! My name is Jessi Baumeyer and I'm thrilled to be your child's art teacher here at Scott.
I was born and raised in Evansville and attended the University of Southern Indiana. I have a Bachelors in Elementary Education and a Minor in Special Education. I previous taught first grade before moving to art.
My amazing husband Brian and I have two beautiful children.
I enjoy crafting, spending time with friends and family, and cooking!
I'm looking forward to an art room filled with creativity and a year
full of learning and fun!
I was born and raised in Evansville. I attended Highland Elementary School (K-5), St. Benedict Cathedral School (6-8), and Memorial High School (2006). I played many sports throughout my life, but began to focus on cross-country and track and field in high school. I attended IUPUI in Indianapolis, where I ran cross-country. I graduated in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in History with a concentration in American History. I worked in Indianapolis for a couple years after graduation. In 2012, I moved back to Evansville.
After struggling to find work in the History field, I decided to return to school to become a teacher. I went to USI and completed my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education in 2015 and my master's degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in reading instruction in 2017.
My husband, Derek, and I have been married for eight years. We have no children, but we do have two Siberian Huskies, Koda and Krue. They have an abundant amount of energy and keep us very busy with walks, runs and playing catch.
My first three years at Scott I taught 5th and 6th grade. I then moved to Physical Education. I have now been teaching P.E. for five years. I always look forward to providing each student the knowledge and skills needed to enhance fitness and promote a healthy lifestyle. I have high expectations for my students and through motivation, determination, persistence, perseverance, effort and discipline, I know all of my students will be able to reach and or exceed their maximum physical health.
I am very excited for another year at Scott Elementary!
My name is Jeff Thornton and I teach music at Scott. I am originally from Mattoon, IL, and attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where I earned my bachelor and masters degrees in instrumental music education and piano pedagogy. My wife and I married in 2003 and lived in Louisville, KY for four years before moving to the Evansville area in 2007.
In my 18 years as an educator in Indiana and Kentucky, I have had the opportunity to teach piano lab classes, band, choir, and private piano lessons, as well as serving as vocal music director for the Warrick County Summer Musical. More recently, I worked with technology training and support for teachers with the EVSC ICATS.
I enjoy spending time with my family and making music as a family. I also enjoy serving as a musician at Oakhill Baptist Church. As the father of three former Scott Tigers, I know that Scott School is an outstanding school with a dedicated staff and I am privileged to be a part of the team.
My name is Angela Hunter and I teach SPARK and orchestra. I also am a n instructor with the North Green Brigade.
The SPARK project is a "jump start" to the current EVSC string programs. The SPARK project offers violin that begins in the 3rd grade. Orchestra begins in the 5th grade and students can choose violin, viola, cello, or bass.
I am married and have two children. Madelyn and Lance attend North High School. They both play instruments and are in the marching band. I have two Airedale Terriers named Sammie and Louis.
I attended North High School, were I participated in orchestra, marching band, and Honors Orchestra. I graduate from the University of Evansville with a Bachelors in Music Education. My major instrument is cello. I have taught general music, choir, and band in the Catholic Schools. I decided to go back to school and get my Masters from the University of Southern Indiana with a emphasis in Special Education. I taught Special Ed at North and Harrison.
I was blessed with the opportunity to teach orchestra and SPARK at Scott. It's a great day to be a tiger!
