For Safeguarding, Prevent duty and FGM, you need to have an up-to-date certificate. The school has signed up with Educare so you can do this in a flexible manner: https://www.myeducare.com Please see Desi or Anna for the login.
You will also need to do the health and safety in education and the fire safety training in Educare.
Please do the Data protection training in Educare (module 1&2). Training on the additional GDPR will be given at the beginning of term.

Linux (this also works on your browser in linux, so for google docs).
Some of the computers will be Linux based. It may need some getting used to, but it saves the school a lot of money on licenses and it is more stable.
The key combination AltGr and Shift pressed simultaneously initiates what is called "compose", which the allows two letters/symbols to be entered as a single symbol
AltGr- Press AltGr and Shift simultaneously and then release. Type a letter, let's say e, and then the accent, let's say ', and you will get é. The symbols that give accents are: ` ' ^ " , ~
There other useful combinations that work in the same way, e.g.
AltGr and Shift followed by ss gives ß,
AltGr and Shift followed by oe gives œ,
AltGr and Shift followed by /= gives ≠
AltGr and Shift followed by +- gives ±
AltGr and Shift followed by ?? gives ¿
AltGr and Shift followed by << gives «
AltGr and Shift followed by 34 gives ¾ (that works with many small fractions)
AltGr and Shift followed by xx gives ×
AltGr and Shift followed by -: gives ÷
Holding AltGr and not releasing (i.e. use like the shift key) also produces many extra symbols: e.g. AltGr+. gives ·, AltGr+2 gives ², etc
If you can't find it using the above or the usual windows Alt codes , you can insert the codes:
Alternatively, you can copy paste it from somewhere, or use the spelling checker.
Change your typing language
In Google Docs or Google Slides, go to the top menu and click File Language. the language you need.
In Google Sheets, go to the top menu and click File. Spreadsheet settings, then pick the locale of the language you need.
Use the grey key with a paper behind it to access the directory. You can scroll down with the up and down arrows, or type a letter to have nearby starting point.
