For Distance learning you can use various tools. For the younger year groups in primary, it's best to email parents. For all older pupils, they have their own email address and access to google classroom and in secondary they all have access to google meet. (If primary teachers want to turn this back on for their class, please email Desi).
For Google Classroom please go here.
Read below for instructions on how to use google meet for video-calls.
Click on the square with dots on the right top in your google account to access your google apps. Google meet: click on Join or start a meeting, then on Continue, then on Join now as per the images below. When you join a popup comes up (if not check your browser on the right hand top to see if it blocks pop-up and make sure to always allow). This popup can be copied by clicking on the "copy joining info" button.
You can then email this to your group or class.
When prompted you have to allow google to use your microphone and camera.
With "present now" at the bottom, you can show your screen or part of your screen to the class.
I would suggest testing everything and making yourself comfortable with the set up by asking just 1 or 2 tech-savvy students or colleagues to test it with you.

Should students complain about a lagging image/sound, advise them to turn off their video stream and only listen in. It is probably because their internet connection is not good enough.
Extension Google Meet Grid view for Chrome is a good way to see all that are in a call at the same time. You can add it via tools-extensions to your Chrome Browser: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/search/meet%20grid
