From the Head Start Performance Standards
HEAD START IA
have a child development associate (CDA) credential or a state-awarded certificate that meets or exceeds the requirements for a CDA credential,
Documentation needed for verification:
Certificate of CDA or state-awarded certificate
are enrolled in a program that will lead to an associate or baccalaureate degree; or,
Documentation needed for verification
Current transcript/degree plan and/
College schedule each semester
are enrolled in a CDA credential program to be completed within two years of the time of hire

EHS Center-Based Staff (Teacher and IA where applicable) must have a minimum of:
Child Development Associate (CDA)
or comparable credential

Home Educators
Have a minimum of a home-based CDA credential or comparable credential equivalent coursework as part of an associate's or bachelor's degree
