In the initial phase of a lesson plan or unit, we are seeking to ACTIVATE thinking.
In this phase, we might expect to see one or more of the following:
- Launch inquiry, explore, predict, and hypothesize
- Introduce task, outcome and relevance
- Build background knowledge
- Foster engagement, curiosity and a positive disposition
