December 2023

We've had a very busy month in Primary 3/4. We've been working very hard whilst also enjoying some festive actvities. We are all ready for a well earned break soon!

LITERACY

During our Literacy time, we have started to look at the use of exclimation marks and full stops. We've created our own punctuation characters and used these to fix sentences.

The boys and girls of Primary 4 have started their group novel 'Spy Dog'. We started by making predictions, ensuring that we had evidence from the text to support our answers. We can't wait to read more and find out what happens!

Finally, following on from November, we have been working so hard to create our own stories. Now, we are turning them into our own books! We look forward to bringing these home and sharing them with you over the Winter Holidays.

NUMERACY AND MATHEMATICS

We had a special delivery this week. When going to choose our morning book, we discovered a letter had been left from the North Pole! Once we read the letter, we discovered that Santa needed our help and we had to put our maths skills to the test.

Some of us were using our knowledge of time to help Santa get on his way. As well as this, Some of us had to help him count the toys by using multiplication.

Thankfully, we think we have helped save the day!

BOOKVENT

We've really enjoyed our Bookvent so far. Each morning we unwrap one of our books and read it together in front of a cosy fire. We've loved sharing the books that we enjoy with our friends.

PArty time!

We had a great time at our Christmas parties. We all came to school in our best party clothes and showed off our amazing dance moves. Miss McLauchlan was very impressed!

Nativity

The Primary 3 children have been working their socks off to create a fantastic Nativity performance. We're working in different groups such as actors, props and scenery, dancers and band. We are really looking forward to having lots of you in to see our show!

L took on a design challenge to create her own star decoration!

We love using active ways to practise our spelling.

Primary 3/4 and Primary 4b worked together to solve a design challenge!

C, Y, B and A were very proud of their stars! We found this tricky but we used our problem solving skills.

S and E showing off their hard work!
