What a year P1! You have worked so hard and deserved to have a whole day of fun! Good luck in Primary 2 with your new teachers!
Some of our pea pods are growing really well! Please continue to look after your plant at home for some summer homework and hopefully you will grow some delicious peas! Remember to let Mrs Wallace know in August if you manage!
June from the library came to tell us about the Summer reading challenge. Your challenge is to read 5 library books (from any library) over the summer holidays to receive lovely prizes, a medal and also to enjoy some fantastic stories with our families!
We have been revising data handing, using tally marks to collect information in groups of 5. Last time we completed a traffic survey focusing on car colours. This week we were looking out for different types of transport. We predicted that the most common type would be cars!
We have been exploring persuasive writing. This week we were writing to persuade others to look after the planet by picking up litter and not dropping litter. We went on a few litter pick afternoons and collected lots of rubbish from different playgrounds. Great teamwork P1!
We were very kindly gifted compost, pots and pea seeds from Mrs Wallace's mum. We listened to a story about the life cycle of plants, and got to plant our own seeds. We will need to look after them and fingers crossed they will grow into edible pea pods!
We have been revising tally marks and recording data. We watched a video about surveys and completed class surveys with Mrs Wallace. Some pupils decided to do their own survey questions to ask and record for the class.
