Our Promoting Positive Bhaviour and Relationship Policy was created by pupils and staff accross the whole campus. Feedback was sought from our Parent Council over 2023-2024. Our policy can be summarised into 3 main points. We ask you as parents to support all our children to show READINESS TO LEARN, SAFETY and RESPECT. These are sometimes referred to as our school rules, or expectations. When things might go wrong and children display stressed or dysregulated behaviours, we will support using the REGULATE, RELATE, REASON strategy. We will support children to understand their behaviour and REPAIR any conflict using Restorative Approaches. You can find the full policy here PRPB Policy
We welcome any feedback, thoughts or comments.

Regulate, Relate, Reason and Restore
The relationship between pupils and teacher is similar to that between a child and his or her parents, built on trust and mutual consideration, understanding and tolerance on both sides. The ethos of Carlibar Promotes positive behaviour and relationships, rather than punishment for misbehaviour. However, pupils should realise that rules are necessary to ensure the safety and well being of all.
The school has developed a clear policy on anti-bullying in line with East Renfrewshire Education Department’s policy and procedures. We take a proactive approach to anti-bullying by having whole school assemblies, workshops in classrooms and a selection of resources, which help children, develop strategies to cope with difficult situations.
The school is developing a clear Promoting Positive Behaviour and Relationships policy. Each child will be reminded of our expectations for behaviour on a regular basis. In the event of a pupil’s continues continual misbehaviour, parents are informed and their co-operation sought. If the indiscipline continues, the parents will be invited to the school to discuss the concerns and explore how school and home can work together to support the pupil.
