Curriculum
Our Curriculum
Here at Carlibar, we encourage learning through experiences to prepare our pupils for the complex world they will be living in when they leave school.
Our aspiration is that each and every pupil should be supported in order that they can develop the four capacities to become a successful learner, a confident individual, a responsible citizen and an effective contributor.
Added to this, because children learn through all of their experiences – in the family, community and school – the curriculum aims to recognise and complement the contributions that these experiences can make.
We support our pupils to develop their values and beliefs and enable them to:-
Achieve the highest possible levels of literacy and numeracy and cognitive skills.
Develop skills for learning, skills for life and skills for work.
Develop knowledge and understanding of society, the world and Scotland’s place in it.
Experience challenge and success so that the can develop well-informed views and act responsibly.
