The links below are to websites and programs that are great for helping students acquire new vocabulary. Many have games for individual students but some have whole class or small group games as well. Many allow you to print the vocabulary list for students who do not have internet access as well.

Quizlet is an excellent web based program to help students acquire new vocabulary. Students can search a database of already shared vocabulary lists or create their own. Teachers can create a class and have students join so they can use the teacher provided word lists to study. Students can also add helpful vocabulary lists to the class page in order to increase collaboration among classmates. Finally, Quizlet includes games for independent and partner study as well as a full class team game called Quizlet live! Fun and interactive way to learn vocabulary for any class!

Teachers who are teaching using an article can paste up to 100 pages of text into the box and automatically have a learning activity created that the teacher can assign to the students.
