Students are the most important part of our school. Since we are a smaller high school, we work really hard to get to know all students and build critical relationships to support student success. At Eastglen you will be a name, not a number!
All In For Youth Team:
We are honored to be 1 of 8 schools in the Division receiving All In For Youth (AIFY) support. Through the collaboration of 10 local partners, AIFY offers multiple supports both in and out of school that help improve academic achievement, increase school and community engagement and develop resilience to handle life's challenges.
Support is offered through our success coach, mental health therapist, tutoring support/after hours activity coach, Roots and Wings and nutrition support through e4c.
OST
We have connections with partner agencies to offer students in-school tutoring after hours and access to intervention blocks during scheduled times in the timetable to support recovery and completion of missing and incomplete work. We have the ability to provide access to some module-based coursework based on the abilities of the student.
Graduation Coaches
We are fortunate to have 3 graduation coaches to support Indigenous students with high school completion. They work directly with students to support them on their educational journey while exploring and celebrating their cultures.
Cultural liaison supporting Black youth
This groups serves as a leadership group and steering committee to work with the school in creating meaningful change to support Black students.
Bent Arrow Traditional Healing Society
We have begun a partnership with Bent Arrow's Kikosewin Family Resource Network that enables a youth engagement worker to be available at our school. They provide Indigenous cultural support and referral support for students who are interested.
