What is AP?
The Advanced Placement Program (AP) enables willing and academically prepared students to pursue university-level studies while still in high school.

Does AP fit in with the Alberta high school curriculum?
Yes! Typically, AP courses build upon the provincial curriculum and provide additional enrichment. By the end of Grade 12, students in AP courses will have exceeded the Alberta requirements in many areas and will have mirrored a first-year university course.
Will it affect extracurricular activities?
The flexibility of AP timetables allows students to actively participate in other activities that interest you without jeopardizing your studies. At Eastglen, you can choose to enroll in a partial or full AP course load, with academic timetables tailored to your individual abilities, interests and extracurricular commitments.
Students may choose to challenge any of the available 38 AP exams by choice. Please visit apcentral.collegeboard.org/about-ap/ap-a-glance for exam choices
