During the 2025–2026 school year, the district continues its comprehensive Trend Walk initiative to support campuses through focused classroom observations. A newly streamlined observation tool guides the process, emphasizing curriculum implementation, state standards, learner actions, dual language practices, instructional technology, and PBIS/SEL. Trend Walks are non-evaluative and designed solely to collect meaningful data that informs campus needs and professional development.
The process is facilitated by a multidisciplinary team from Academics and School Leadership. Last year, the Academics team conducted 3,866 classroom visits, and for 2025–2026, every campus will be observed.
Trend Walks provide a clear picture of how well EPISD’s instructional frameworks and initiatives are being implemented. The data collected helps the district:
Support high-quality Tier 1 instruction
Identify professional development needs
Recognize and celebrate effective practices
Strengthen the implementation of curriculum, Dual Language, PBIS, SEL, Specialized Learning, and Advanced Academics
Inform personalized support plans tailored to each campus
By focusing on trends—not evaluations—Trend Walks promote shared ownership of student success and reinforce EPISD’s commitment to delivering high-quality, equitable learning experiences for every student.
