In the 2025–2026 school year, EPISD proudly launched innovative Elementary Science Academies as part of the District Redesign Process. These academies include:
Cooley ES STEM Academy
Clendenin ES STEAM Academy
Bobby Joe Hill PK-8 STEAM Academy
Western Hills Environmental Science Academy
The Teaching and Learning Department played a pivotal role in supporting these new academies by shaping curriculum and programming to ensure a strong start. Our team provided:
STEMscopes Science, STEAM Readers, LEGO BricQ and SPIKE kits, and Makerspaces to enrich student learning.
Comprehensive professional development for all teachers, equipping them with the tools and strategies needed for success.
Currently, teachers and campuses are working toward National STEM Certification, deepening their expertise in best practices for STEM instruction. Beyond the classroom, we are expanding opportunities through after-school STEM programs, featuring makerspace projects, LEGO builds, broadcasting, and eSports.
We are thrilled to bring these transformative experiences to our elementary students and to lead the way in creating future-ready learners!
