NFL Postseason Madness

Bears News

The 2021-2022 NFL regular season is now in the books. The Bears have finished the season with a 6 and 11 record, resulting in them coming third in their division. With the season turning out as a disappointment, the Chicago Bears have fired head coach Matt Nagy and offensive coordinator Race Pace. The Bears have been interviewing people such as former Eagles head coach Doug Peterson for the head coach position and Ran Carthon for the General Manager position. These are solid moves that I feel the Bears need to do if they want to have successful season next year. In the Chicago's last three games the Bears upset the Seahawks at home and beat the Giants, but they also lost to the Vikings. While the season did not go as expected, there was a show of promise for next year that was led by rookie quarterback Justin Fields. The Bears have just hired a new coach named Matt Eberflus, who was previously a defensive coordinator for the Indianapolis Colts. After being the head coach for not even a week, he is already starting to make moves. such as hiring the Packers quarterback coach Luke Gesky. This is big because he will be the one developing Justin Fields.

NFC

Meanwhile, in the NFL, the post-season is slowly coming to an end. The Bucs were down 27-3 going into the 3rd quarter but Tom Brady does what he does best and would even out the score Tom Brady almost pulled a comeback against the Rams, but fell short when the final score was 27-30. Shortly after the game, Tom Brady would announce his retirement after 22 seasons in the league. The Green Bay Packers stayed on top with a 10 point lead for majority of the game but the 49rs would respond and tie the game back up and when Aaron Rodgers. The 49rs defense would stop Aaron Rodgers and force a punt which let Jimmy G drive down the field and allow former Bears kicker Robbie Gould as gold kick the game winning field allowing the 49rs to advance to the divisional round. In the NFC championship, the Rams would trail the 49rs for majority of the game. Mathew Stanford would march his team down the when needed most and this set up Matt Gay(K) to steal the lead from them . The Rams defense was hungry and was able to get a interception which sealed their win and was able to send them to a Super Bowl.

AFC

Meanwhile, in the AFC, the titans fell short to the Bengals in which Even McPherson(K) would make the game winning field goal. The Bills met the Chiefs at home and Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes would have a shootout that would lead into overtime, Travis Kelce would score the last touchdown and end up running away with the win. In the AFC championship game, Patrick Mahomes took a 3-touchdown lead during the first half, but Joe Burrow and the defense responded, scoring and causing turnovers taking the game into overtime. Patrick Mahomes would throw an interception in OT, which resulted in Evan McPherson's game-winning field goal to send the Bengals to a Super Bowl since 1989.
