Reviewing Gym Brand Leggings

Natalie Ibarra

Finding the best leggings can be difficult when it comes to the fitness life. You want to make sure that they aren’t see-through or uncomfortable while you are doing cardio or lifting weights. These factors are the most important because you want to be able to workout with confidence and style! Today, I will be reviewing 5 different brands of leggings that I have purchased over the last year.

Alphalete

This might be my favorite online brand of leggings so far! They are very comfortable and won’t have you going to the bathroom to adjust them every 5 minutes. I can say that these leggings are not see-through, so you do not have to worry about that, and they are 100% squat-proof. However, this brand is pricey and will have you broke if you decided to buy more than one. I think $72 for a pair of basic leggings is absurd, but I would say that it is definitely worth it. I have had these leggings for almost two months now and there have been no issues with the material, so they are still very soft and stretchy. I would also make sure to sign up for their emails to get notified when they have restocks because these leggings do tend to sell out quick.

Gymshark

I only own one pair of their biker shorts but I can say that I LOVE wearing these on leg days, as my leg pump looks amazing in them. Since I wear these on my leg days, I’m doing all kinds of squatting, so I can confirm that these are squat-proof. The Vital Seamless 2.0 is one of their most popular styles and, while I have yet to get myself a pair, I have heard that they are comfortable and will look flattering on any body type. These leggings aren’t as expensive as Alphalete, but they're still pricey for just one pair. They range from $50-$60 depending on the style you get. The brand is, overall, a hit and you won’t be disappointed with your purchase. This brand is online so you could easily access it through any device.

NVGTN

I have a love and hate relationship with these leggings, purchased from online. Don’t get me wrong, they are comfortable and stretchy, but I don’t think they look flattering on me. The NVGTN website brings a variety of colors you can pick from which is a plus. However, their leggings are always sold out once they restock, so I would suggest signing up for their emails so you get notified when another release comes out. If you’re wondering if these are squat-proof, they are! Now for the price, I do think these leggings are worth the purchase if you like the style of the leggings. They have contours on the front and back to bring attention to your muscles. I am not a big fan of these “contours” because you have to keep adjusting them to stay the way you want. Overall, the quality of the leggings are great but the style is not my favorite.

Amazon

Since I live on TikTok, many of my favorite fitness influencers show off dupes that they ordered on Amazon for brands like the ones I listed above. Sometimes, you can’t even tell the difference between the real and fake ones. I own 3 pairs of Amazon leggings and they still are in perfect condition, with no wears or tears. However, these leggings are just a little see-through when it comes to squatting or bending over for a second, so I would avoid wearing these on leg days. Now, lets talk about the price. These leggings are very affordable and can range anywhere from $20-$30! I definitely recommend these leggings because of the price itself, but make sure you find the right company from Amazon, because there are many. A helpful tip is to read the reviews before ordering. Here are some of my favorites: AUROLA, YEOREO, Aoxjox.

Marshalls/TJMaxx

I am going to be 100% honest with you and say that these leggings are the most comfortable and affordable. I used to buy these leggings in the beginning of my fitness journey because they had such cute colors and styles for everyone. I will say that I don’t wear these to the gym as often as I would like, but I can say that they are squat-proof and very cheap. I would recommend getting yourself a pair of these if you’re new to the fitness world. The prices range from $15-$20, so it is definitely a steal! Another plus to these leggings is that you don’t have to wait for them to ship to your house or wonder if you got the right size because you can try them on at the store!
