Brownie Review

Are Cakey Brownies the Best brownies by: Michael Cotto

1

Cakey brownies are some of the best brownies that could ever exist. In fact, they are moist and airy, so no other brownies can compare to these, especially since, when you take a bite, they tear from your hand like you're ripping a rose petal. Now, the big question is "what's the key to making brownies cakey?" What you want to do to make the brownies rise is add more baking soda and maybe some extra eggs, as it helps lift the cake and allows the brownies to become airy and let moisture through the brownie. The steps to making cakey brownies aren’t hard at all: just throwing a couple of ingredients together, mixing it up, and throwing it into the oven.

I had good comments on the brownies and everybody loved the consistency. I asked if it was like tearing a rose petal from your mouth and they all totally agreed with the statement. Everybody loved them and, within minutes, they were all eaten. I had no time to even grab any because I was writing the reviews. I was told that “they were some of the best brownies that they've ever had” and I had some that said that they brownies were "perfect!” The amount of chocolate that was added was perfect, as there were no complaints that it was too chocolaty. Overall, they were good comments and I was happy with these reviews. If I could change anything about this recipe, then I would add a little more sugar, even though it was already pretty sweet.

I decided to make brownies because I've always loved to bake and cook ever since I was a little kid, maybe around 5, because of my Mom and Grandma. Baking came second because I loved to cook food and smell the aroma of my culture's food. As I progressed in my cooking/baking career, I loved to bake cookies, cakes, and cinnamon buns. I would love to bake anything, but those 3 were my favorite to make.

Ingredients…

  1. 16 tablespoons of unsalted butter melted

  2. 2 ¼ granulated sugar

  3. 1 ¼ dutch-process cocoa powder

  4. 1 Teaspoon salt

  5. 1 Teaspoon baking powder

  6. 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

  7. 5 large eggs

  8. ½ cup water

  9. 11/2 cups of king arthur unbleached all-purpose flour

Making the brownies was a little more difficult than I anticipated. This was the first time doing it by myself and it was a little tiring as a result. Melting the butter took a bit of time because I didn't want to burn it and have it come out bad. After I melted all the butter, I threw all the ingredients in and made sure I had every measurement correct, only adding a little more baking soda and an extra egg. After that, I grabbed my mixer and mixed it until there was nothing left but a smooth and creamy mix. Then, I threw the batter into the pan, pounded the pan to let some air bubbles out, and threw the pan into the oven. The brownies baked for about an hour because I didn't want to raise the heat too high, which would cause the brownies to finish too fast and almost burn.

This whole process was a little more difficult than I thought it was going to be but, in the end, it was super fun and I'm glad that everybody enjoyed the brownies that I baked. Seeing the enjoyment on everybody's faces made me smile and the thought that I made them almost to perfection was even better. I would one hundred percent recommend this recipe to everybody that loves brownies or chocolate of any kind. Even if you don't like it, this would be a great start-off or come-back.
