Jackie Robinson and Simone Biles were both leaders of social change in their discipline. Simone Biles was a gymnast that broke the color barrier in gymnastics Simone Biles set a new American record for most gold medals in gymnastics at a single Olympics game. She also made a triumphant return at a public competition at the US Classic in July 2018. And she won a medal at the 2018 world gymnastics in every event. 

Jackie Robinson and Simone Biles are fearless. Jackie Robinson was a fearless athlete. In Promises to Keep by Sharon Robinson,  it says he received death threats. This explains that Simone Biles has faced many challenges. Jackie Robinson and Simone Biles had support from their family and friends. Jackie Robinson had a supportive wife. In Promises to Keep on page 39 says, ''During Jackie's baseball career I attended every home game." This explains that Jackie's wife Rachel went to all of his games. Simone Biles had support from her friends. On ustoday.com it says, “I am so grateful for all of the support I have received throughout my journey, and it has empowered me to share my experiences so I can help be a voice for others who may be struggling.” This explains that she had support throughout her career. 

Simone Biles and Jackie Robinson participated in different sports Jackie was a talented baseball player. In Promises to Keep on page 48 says, "Dad had been playing with the Brooklyn Dodgers for 10 years. During that time, he helped the team reach the World Series six times." This explains that Jackie was a good baseball player. Simone Biles has a career in gymnastics. Another difference between them is that they had to face different challenges. Jackie Robinson had to face diabetes while he was playing baseball. On www.timesenterprise.com it says "He started to experience complications from his Type 2 diabetes, including progressive loss of vision while playing baseball". This explains he had trouble with diabetes while playing baseball. Simone Biles had to battle mental health issues during her career. "Biles, who has won seven Olympic medals, including four golds, battled mental health issues and the unexpected loss of a family member during the Summer Games." This explains Simone Biles had to battle mental health issues during her career. 

Jackie Robinson and Simone Biles helped break barriers in their sport. Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier in Major League baseball. Simone Biles broke the color carrier in gymnastics by winning multiple gold Olympic medals.
