Anthony Robles and Jackie Robinson both broke barriers. Anthony Robles and Jackie Robinson played different sports. Jackie played baseball while Anthony was a wrestler. Anthony Robles was a wrestler who was born missing a leg. Anthony Robles was awarded the best male with a disability in 2011. He won the "Jimmy V" award for perseverance. He placed 4th in the nation at one time.
Jackie Robinson and Anthony Robles never gave up. Jackie never gave up even when he was targeted with hate. From Promises to Keep, by Sharn Robinson it says, "Players struck dad (Jackie Robinson) with their cleats and even pitched the ball at him. Hoping to start a fight. Dad (Jackie Robinson) contained his anger." This means that he never gave up, even when so much hate was directed at him. Anthony Robles never gave up even when he lost a leg. from(nwhof.org) it says, "(he won many awards) Including the prestigious "Jimmy V Award" for perseverance." This means he never gave up, even when he lost a leg. Jackie Robinson and Anthony Robles are very courageous athletes. Jackie Robinson had courage because even when he got death threats he kept playing. In Promises to Keep by Sharon Robinson, we read, "The Royals learned there had been letters and calls threatening violence and a boycott if my Farther (Jackie Robinson) appeared on the field." This means he wasn't afraid to do what he felt was right even when people were threatening him. Anthony Robles had courage because even when people offered him a better future but he proved them wrong. The National Wrestling Hall of Fame says, "If there was ever a reason to believe in the power of courage, look no farther than Anthony Robles. Not only will Robles be recognized as a great wrestler, but he will be remembered as one of the most inspirational athletes in all of sports". This tells us that Robles worked hard and never gave up on his dreams.

This means Anthony Robles pushed on with one leg to break barriers in his sport. Jackie Robinson and Anthony Robles broke different barriers. Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier. Promises to Keep by Sharon Robinson says, "...a Syracuse player tossed a black cat toward him (Jackie Robinson) yelling, "Hey Jackie, there's your cousin clowning on the field."" This means he kept playing even when the crowd threw hate at him. Anthony Robles broke the disability barrier. The National Wrestling Hall of Fame also tells us, "(Anthony Robles was) The best male athlete with a disability at the 2011 ESPYs". This means that even with his disability he was able to break barriers.
