I. With your Fireworks parter you will complete the "lab safety test." If you are unsure of answers, please check with Mr. Hollis.
II. The ions of metals, in the form of 'metal salts,' give fireworks their beautiful colors. You have been assigned an 'ion group,' and your partner has been assigned the other group. Your job is to create a Google Drawing of the e- diagram of each of your ions, showing the movement of electrons. An example is given in Classroom and is shown below. Once complete, share your Drawings with your partner.
III. Ion Cartoon. Create a 12 panel cartoon, creating a story and characters that exhibit traits of e- structure and ions. Specifically, include an illustration of:
- the aufbau principle
- Hund's Rule (singly before doubly)
- Pauli Exclusion Principle (opposite spin)
- metals, non-metals, metalloids, noble gases and what each 'does' with electrons.
