III. We've all had Gatorade or lemonade that was too strong or too watered down. It was either too 'concentrated' or not concentrated enough. The chemistry synonym for concentration is molarity, M.

Molarity is calculated by moles/volume, with a unit of 'molar.' For example, 5 moles NaCl/.25L is 20M, or 20 molar.

Let's determine the molarity of sugar in Gatorade.

Now, what if we pour ourselves a small cup of Gatorade? 250mL? How much (g) sugar will we get in this small serving? 

What happens when I mix 50.00mL of 2.50M sodium chloride with 100.0mL of 1.25M silver nitrate? How much precipitate should you expect?
