Don't forget to screen your child for the COVID-19 symptoms listed on the document below! Any students exhibiting these symptoms at school will be sent to the nurse. We've also included our recently updated COVID-19 Visitor Protocol. As much as we would like to, we are not allowing visitors on campus at this time. Please review this document for further clarification.
If you have opted for your child to participate in In Person Instruction and you decide to keep them home because they aren't feeling well, have a doctor's appointment, etc., they may participate in their classroom activities remotely. AND . . . they will be marked present for the day.
Instruction begins promptly at 7:30. All students should be in their classrooms at that time and ready to learn. Students entering the building after 7:30 must stop at the office to receive a tardy slip. The busiest time for drop off is between 7:15 and 7:30, but our doors open at 7:00. Get here early to avoid the wait and ensure that your child is in class on time. Students with any tardies for the week will not be considered for perfect attendance.
Let’s have some FUN and win PRIZES!!
Just like Gumby, we are flexible with your attendance. We want it Remotely or In Person. If you are present every day, you will receive a ticket in a drawing for a $25 HEB Gift Card. Drawings will be held every 3 weeks beginning October 19th.
Each student who has 3 consecutive weeks of perfect attendance will receive a ticket in a drawing for $100 HEB gift card. The drawing will be held on December 18th.
Students with perfect attendance during each session will receive an additional entry into each drawing.
If your child is returning to in person learning, they need to bring their charged device, charger, face mask or shield, headphones, and backpack. Students may not share any school supplies, so also send them with their crayons, pencils, and scissors if they have them. That way, they can use them for different activities and for Art class with Ms. Core!
EES is currently accepting nominations for the Gifted and Talented Program. The nomination window for 1st - 4th graders will remain open until November 6, 2020. If you would like to nominate your child for testing please email or call katherine.fangman@elginisd.net and state that you would like your child(ren) to be tested to enter the district’s GT program. Please note that your nomination for GT testing authorizes the district to test your child using the predetermined assessment instruments selected by the GT committee.
