Our UIL event on January 23rd was a huge success. Big shout out to our UIL Coordinator, Mrs. Andrews and our amazing UIL coaches. The EES scholars shone like the stars they are! Coming soon . . . the campus awards ceremony. It will be posted here as soon as editing is complete.
Elgin Elementary School doors open at 7:00 and instruction begins promptly at 7:30. Students must be in their classrooms at that time. Car riders that arrive after 7:30 must be signed in by an adult. The line begins backing up at about 7:25. If you would like to avoid the line, arrive between 7:00 and 7:25. Thank you for helping us get our scholars in class on time and ready to learn.
Please visit the October 1st page of this newsletter. Included is our Return to Learn plan with an explanation of pick up and drop off procedures. If students are not bus riders, the must be picked up or dropped off in the car loop. This is for the safety of our students and staff. As you are arriving to drop off, please be courteous to other families and take turns entering the the car loop. There is no staff to monitor this area as we are all unloading students as you pull up to the school.
On January 25th, we began Rapid Antigen Testing for COVID. This is available only for students who are symptomatic and are in person learners. It is not required, however, permission slips have been sent home with all in person learners. If you'd like to give permission for your child to receive the test when they are having COVID-like symptoms, please complete the permission form and send it back to school.
Only symptomatic students with parent permission forms on file will be tested.
All Elgin ISD campuses and departments require that masks be worn by adults. While our campus is closed to visitors, there are times when you may find yourself in our building. It may be to drop off a tardy child or bring a change of clothes or pick up your child when they become ill. Whatever the reason, if you are on school grounds and must get out of your car, a mask is required. Our scholars are doing a wonderful job following this expectation and we need your support and participation to help keep our school open.
