Don't forget to screen your child for the COVID-19 symptoms listed on the document below! Any students exhibiting these symptoms at school will be sent to the nurse. We've also included our recently updated COVID-19 Visitor Protocol. As much as we would like to, we are not allowing visitors on campus at this time. Please review this document for further clarification.
Join Mrs. Farias for coffee and a chat tomorrow, December 4th at 9:00 am. The link is shared here.
All Elgin Elementary teachers are required to meet with each student in small groups for Reading and Math. The number of days per week that each child meets in the groups depends on their level of academic need which may change from week to week as the standards change. Please remind your child to log in to these mandatory learning sessions. Teachers are taking classwork participation grades for these groups and if your child does not participate, it will have a negative impact on his or her overall grade.
All Elgin ISD campuses and departments require that masks be worn by adults. While our campus is closed to visitors, there are times when you may find yourself in our building. It may be to drop off a tardy child or bring a change of clothes or pick up your child when they become ill. Whatever the reason, if you are on school grounds and must get out of your car, a mask is required. Our scholars are doing a wonderful job following this expectation and we need your support and participation to help keep our school open.
Our first official PTA Meeting is on Tuesday, December 15th at 6 pm. We will be holding elections, so please come to join our meeting and/or run for an office!
Click joinpta.org to officially join our PTA. The dues are $5 and you pay through the website. Make sure to select our school. We need 20 + paid members for our first meeting, so thank you in advance for joining!
Attendance is Important!! Let's make it FUN & win PRIZES!!!
The last two drawings will be held on Friday, December 18th. The first drawing will be for $25 and include students who have been present the last 3 weeks. The second drawing will be for $100 and include students who have maintained perfect attendance for at least 3 consecutive weeks during the last 9 weeks of the semester.
Make sure your students are in attendance every day!
If your child is returning to in person learning, they need to bring their charged device, charger, face mask or shield, headphones, and backpack. Students may not share any school supplies, so also send them with their crayons, pencils, and scissors if they have them. That way, they can use them for different activities and for Art class with Ms. Core!
