Coaches

Melisa is in her fourth year as the head Debate and Forensics coach. In her first year at the helm of EHS, her debaters were runner-up at 4A State and made it to the quarterfinals at the NCFL Grand National Tournament. She has helped qualify students to State every year.

Prior to EHS, she assisted at Wichita South, Wichita Northeast Magnet, and Wichita Northwest. She then became the head coach at Wichita Heights in 2005, where she stayed for 11 years. At Heights, she also helped qualify students to State every year.

Melisa is a three diamond coach in the National Speech and Debate Association. When students compete they earn points, which earns their coach points as well. She is 1,526 points away from her fourth diamond. To achieve four diamonds, she has to have been coaching for 20 years and accumulated 10,000 points.

Roger is in his sixth year as the assistant coach for EHS Debate. He has taken students to competitions all across the state and nation and has judged at the national level.
