In order to support Children in Need, we paid money to wear our own clothes and something spotty. We really enjoyed doing a Pudsey 'Spotacular' Scavenger hunt, searching for emoji's and solving maths clues....

Our new science topic is to learn all about light. We have learned that light travels in straight lines and shadows are created when an opaque object 'blocks' the light. We have studied the parts of the eye and understand how we see. Did you know that the images we see are upside down on the retina and our clever brain inverts the image? Amazing!

Macbeth

We had a real treat this afternoon, when the Young Shakespeare Company came to school to perform Macbeth. It was an interactive show where we were able to join in, creating sound effects and answering questions about the play. Some of us were even chosen to play parts alongside the actors! It was powerful and captivating and we extend a huge 'Thank You' to Mrs Benson for organising it and to the actors for their excellent performance.

Today we conducted a fair test to investigate the effect of the distance of a light source on the size of a shadow. We thought carefully about our variables, measured our shadows accurately and then drew conclusions from our results.

Our Christmas Choir represented EFPS brilliantly at the Rayleigh Christmas Lights Switch on on Thursday 27th November. We sang our hearts out on the stage in front of a wonderful crowd and we are now feeling fully festive!

Bonjour tout le monde! In French lessons, we have been learning all about places in our town ( En ville) Today we visited the French Cafe - Cafe de l'ecole - to practice ordering food and speaking to a waiter! We had a great time role playing as a waiter and a customer and we enjoyed ordering and tasting hot chocolate, bread, cheese and croissants! Bon appetit!

We had a great time with our grownups making papercraft Christmas cards. The paper and card folding was a bit tricky but I think you will agree that the final results were really effective. Happy Christmas!

In DT, Year 6 have been learning all about food and nutrition. We have studied food safety and hygiene and looked at the main ingredients that are included in a pasta dish. Today we followed a recipe and made, tasted and evaluated our own pasta dish - Delicious!

Thank you to our wonderful PA who organised and ran a fabulous Christmas shopping event for us. We shopped til we dropped and even got to meet Father Christmas!

Year 6 Netball Tournament
Year 6 Netball Tournament
During our outdoor PE lesson, Year 6 held an inter-house netball tournament. 6H teams played 6R teams and the the final was very close and exciting. It was a great afternoon with all players showing great sportsmanship, skill and energy. Well done to 6H Mount team for winning the tournament and to the whole of Mount who scored the most points overall. We had great fun!
