Well done to this group of children for starting off our Food and Farming topic in style. They have worked with Mrs King to enter the Essex Agricultural Society Veg-tyre-bles competition. They have created a wonderful Jack and the Beanstalk themed vegetable garden, using two car tyres (covered in white bags to represent clouds) and runner beans, peas, nasturtiums and sweet peas. They grew these themselves from seeds. They talked about why they had added ‘Companion’ plants or ‘catch crops’ - to deter the pests from our precious vegetable plants!
