Welcome back to another half term - our last in Year 1! Over the past two weeks, the children have been learning about Africa. We've looked at the Julia Donaldson story The Ugly Five and we're starting to research some interesting facts about those odd-looking African animals!
We've also been designing some bright and colourful African masks and we're starting to make them this week using modroc. Take a look at some of our designs - aren't they fantastic? Keep checking back to see our finished masks!
Out of Africa
This week we've continued with our Africa topic - the children have loved it! We have written fact files about the Ugly Five, have found different African countries on a map and we've been learning the traditional Ghanan song, Che Che Kule.
We have nearly finished paintiing our Afrcon marsks. My marsc is going to be a girarf.
