1.07 - Drawing in Isometric
In this next activity you will be learning about isometric and oblique drawing techniques.
Activity - Your Initials
To practice isometric start a new drawing in AutoCAD.
Draw your initials using a blocky font in both isometric and oblique style.
Bringing It Together - Drawing a Servo
For the next challenge you will need to demonstrate some of your skills:
How to measure an object with a caliper.
How to draw an object in orthographic.
How to dimension a drawing.
How to use a title block.
How to draw that object in isometric.
Your task is to take a servo motor from the lab and to create a drawing of that motor with dimensions in orthographic and isometric.
These drawings will be presented on a single page with a title block.
Assessment
This drawing will be used as evidence for your CAD 1 and TDD credits as it demonstrates skills in both areas.
Please add the drawings to your ePortfolio under the name "2.7 - Servo Challenge"
During the covid pandemic, the ability to measure things in person is limited so here is an example of the measurements that you need:
Additionally, if you are using the AutoCAD Web App (as of December 2020) there is no way to draw an isocircle there.
To draw an isocircle:
Open the "IsocircleTop.dwg in the assignment folder.
Upload that file to AutoCAD web.
Open that file and use the "Save As" button to save it as "servo in iso"
Begin your drawing using the iso circle top that is in that file.
