Begin by learning the 70 phonograms. To make it easier, the videos below teach a small group at a time. Only move on to the next group after mastering the first group. Re-watch the videos to achieve a high recall of the phonograms.
Watch the videos in the order set below. You will be asked to sound and write the codes. You will need a pencil and a book to complete the task.
After mastering the 70 phonograms, select the High Frequency Words under the Stage 1 tab to develop an automatic recall of these important words to help with early reading success.
Knox Park Primary School over time has added additional phonograms for students to study. These include:
1: 'air' as in hair,
2: 'ear' as in hear and early,
3: 'gu' as in guess,
4: 'tch' as in fetch and
5: 'augh' as in laugh and daughter.
These phonograms will not be referred to in this website.

Only move to the next group of codes when you have mastered the phonograms in each group.
