Main teaching and learning space, Foyer, Focus Room and Senior Study
The Tumut High School Library, (in its current location) was opened in 1981.
In 2017 it received a make-over and was turned into a flexible learning space with a focus on collaboration. The space is used for whole year group activities and special presentations through to accommodating up to three classes. There are different spaces for different types of learning supporting explicit instruction, collaborative group work through to individual focus with room for dynamic and engaging blended learning experiences.
Before: Senior study space and teaching space combined. Fixed computers, yellow lights and lots of brown and beige.
After: Open, light and bright with notebook computers and a variety of moveable furniture for flexibility.
Examples of some of the exciting and memorable learning experiences afforded by the Resource Centre physical spaces can be seen at Curriculum: Special Learning Experiences
Following are explanations and photographs of the different Resource Centre spaces, furniture and their uses for teaching and learning.

Furniture configurations can help to direct focus and the way students learn. Teachers are able to make the most of the space to move students around to create engaging and dynamic learning experiences. Interactive whiteboards can be use for presentating to one side for class groups and two sides for larger groups.
Booths and focus tables
The booths (left and middle) are very popular with small groups and as a motivation for students in class groups. Focus tables (right) at the side of the room are also popular.
