It is a rarified and competitive field of musicians that audition for Australian Youth Orchestra's National Music Camp annually, with audition excerpts being of a difficulty with professional orchestral auditions, and a competitive intake of thousands Australia wide of mostly tertiary aged students.
Four NHSPA students' selection is a stunning coup and validation of their musical excellence.
Congratulations !

28th KOREAN SPEECH WORLD CONTEST
Yudam (Christina) Kim Year 9
Christina Kim (Year 9) recently participated in the 28th K-Speech World Contest, where she represented NHSPA on a global stage. The contest brings together representatives from 19 countries who have advanced through national preliminaries. This year, the competition was organised by the Laos branch, with support from the Korean Government, Korean Language Proficiency Association and multiple Korean Ministries.
The participants delivered speeches that highlighted the promotion of Korean culture, addressing topics such as the value and culture of the Korean language, the eradication of school violence, the prevention of safety accidents, and the peaceful reunification of the Korean Peninsula.
The speeches were judged, and five main awards were presented. The 1st place winner received the Korean Presidential Award, while the remaining four were honoured with the Vice-Presidential Award. I am delighted to share that Christina won one of the Vice-Presidential Awards. Her name will be recorded in the Korean Parliament, and she received a certificate, trophy, and scroll to commemorate her achievement.
CRICKET
NSW Combined High Schools Representative
Diksha Chowdhary (Year 9) has represented NHSPA since Year 7 in cricket.
Recently Diksha was the equal leading wicket-taker for Sydney East team with 7 wickets. She had the best figures of 3-20 in the final leading Sydney East to win the NSW CHS Girls Cricket Championships for the first time in over 20 years.
As a result of her performances, Diksha was selected in the Under 15 NSW CHS team to play in the NSW All Schools tournament in Tuggerah. After two scorching days at the Central Coast Regional Sporting Complex, 13 girls were selected to represent NSW All Schools at the 2025 School Sport Australia 15 years & Under Cricket Championships.
This is an amazing achievement, and we are extremely proud of you - past NHSPA students who have been selected in these teams have gone on to represent Australia at the Olympic and International level. We can't wait to see you on the world stage!
Congratulations!
