CLOUDSTREET
In Semester 2, the Year 9 Extension Drama students set their sights on a bold challenge: to push their creative boundaries and bring a full-length play to life. After much deliberation, they chose Cloudstreet—the captivating adaptation by Justin Monjo and Nick Enright, based on Tim Winton’s iconic novel. With a sharp focus on artistic economy, the students masterfully condensed the work into a powerful, one-hour performance.
Every detail of the production was carefully crafted by the students themselves. They designed the soundscape, curated the costumes, collaborated closely with the director, operated the technical elements, and meticulously coordinated props. It was a true testament to their collective dedication and passion.
On Friday 29 November, the magic came to life on stage in A7, where we were thrilled to welcome an audience of proud parents. The night showcased the incredible talent and hard work of every student involved.
A special thank you to Zoe Backes, our exceptional Stage Manager, whose experience as the Assistant Stage Manager for the original production brought invaluable expertise to the table.
It was a night of celebration, creativity, collaboration, and commitment.
Congratulations to all involved !
Judith Hoddinott
(Teacher/Director)
A huge congratulations to our Drama students, Sylvie Daniels, Joshua Leek, Anouk Macarthur Mitchell, Josephine Ritter and Annabelle Szewcow, on their hard work, commitment and excellence as part of the Featured Drama Ensemble in the 2024 Schools Spectacular.
The Schools Spectacular's team were so impressed with the way the Featured Drama Ensemble showcased their talents in the show and we had fantastic feedback from choreographers and teachers as to how responsive, focused and considerate they were throughout the process. They have all represented their school with enormous pride and respect.
Roll Out The Red Carpet
