The Dance Faculty has had another busy and successful year with extensive performance opportunities at Dance Festivals and Showcase concerts. Our senior students were fortunate to attend Lighthouse Dance Project, which is a festival that provides them the opportunity to participate in workshops with tutors/lecturers from various Universities from around Australia to gain an insight into the Tertiary Dance programs that are on offer. Many of your Year 12 students attended an Audition at this festival and were successful in gaining offers of placement at various Universities.
Students also performed exceptionally at In the Spotlight Dance Festival, State Dance Festival, Schools Spectacular and Dance Showcase concerts. The talent, commitment and artistry of the students during these performances was outstanding.
The Year 12 HSC students were highly successful in their practical examinations, receiving Callback nominations for exemplary performance in their practical HSC Examinations. 23 students were successful in receiving a nomination with 12 students receiving three nominations in the areas of Core Performance, Core Composition and Major Study Performance, resulting in a total of 53 nominations!
All students should be proud of their commitment to their Dance studies within the curriculum, with all students achieving excellent results in their Dance Elective courses. Congratulations on your achievements this year and we look forward to another year of hard work and growth in 2026.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Angelique Mavromatis for her commitment, dedication, knowledge and expertise as a Classroom teacher, Company Director and mentor to students over her time as a member of the Dance Faculty at NHSPA. Your passion for your subject and your students will be missed. We wish you all the best for your future adventures.
Thank you to the school community for your continued support of Dance at NHSPA and we wish you a wonderful holiday period and look forward to working with you in 2025.
